Concrete Walls, Abutments, & Embankments In Moose JawWhen you think of retaining walls in Moose Jaw, normally you think that it's simply a thing of purpose, to hold back soil. While this may be true most of the time, more and more people are choosing to make these abutments a part of their living space through creative design and decoration. Through the use of curves and colouring, you can make these concrete walls look stunning.
While small sized concrete retaining walls don't need much pre planning, bigger walls can be much more technically difficult. From needing pilings or stronger reinforcements inside the cement, we usually recommend seeking an engineers advice to make sure large walls stand the test of time. As with any concrete undertaking, we start by making a solid, level base with crushed rock, and depending on the size of wall, we'll use footings to spread out the weight load. Next, we'll run weeping tile and landscape for proper drainage before we cement in the forms. Once we have everything level and secured, we'll add our braces or backfill to prepare for the pour. For the more creative and complex designs we can add stamps and colouring to the inside of the forms for a spectacular and unique look. Additionally, paint can be applied after the concrete has set and the forms have been removed to give it that personal touch. |
